Erotica for the evangelical set

The Globe and Mail has a story on sex books for religious people, inspired by Abebooks.com. Of the top 10 sex guides ordered by Abe Books users, five have religious or spiritual themes. Topping the list is Ed and Gaye Wheat's Intended for Pleasure: New Approaches to Sexual Intimacy in Christian Marriage.

I've actually heard stories about deeply religious couples seeking counselling after failing to have a baby. The reason, they didn't even know the basics of human reproduction. The doctor had to explain everything to them! Imagine you, at age 25 or so, realizing you have a sexuality. If that's not a Revelation, what is?

So yes, I can seriously see the need for this kind of book. Problem is, if they want to inspire people they should be careful as to what they say and suggest since any position other than the missionary is illegal in most US states... :)

Bah. Positions other than missionary aren't illegal in the states. That falsehood gets spread around quite a bit but it isn't true. Feel free to post a link to any actual law that says it is. Most states have their code online nowadays.

I can't say I had any credible source to quote except random newspapers, friends and stupidlaws.com (or whatever the name of the site was). It also said oral sex was illegal in several states.

Regulating things you cannot control is just pointless because controlling sexual behavior would mean you'd have to violate constitutional rights.

Might just be an urban myth. Problem is, the best urban myths are usually just myths and are hard to kill.

most of the more interesting ones are impossible anyways..lol

I've just been touting a book proposal called Sex, Love 'n Lust - Bible Style. It has been turned down in the US because, apparently, I don't have an 'orthodox' enough view on the creation story (I dare to suggest that it might not necessarily be literal!) but the publishers and agents were all too happy with my sex talk. I've finally found a home for it with a UK publisher and have amended the title to Desire.

Now the missionary position is hell if you've got a dodgy hip. Where's my osteopath's number?

Hey a big congrats for Desire Fiona, that is one of my muses names :), though she has been very quiet for such a long time now I believe Destiny may have fled with her.
