Everyone Has a Book in Them

And perhaps that’s where it should stay, because not everyone has a good book in them. The ease and affordability of self-publishing means the shelves are, at least figuratively, sagging with the great unreadables. Yet, this same ease and affordability is available to the truly talented as well. So perhaps the occasional gem is worth the overload.

I've reviewed a couple of these books. There definitely is a lot of stuff out there that wouldn't be without POD and e-book publishers. I won't say these books shouldn't be published. I'm on the opinion that the more there is, the better. For the author's personal benefit though, a fair amount of rejection probably helps the lesser authors improve. Now, there's not as much incentive to improve. After all, they are published authors! Even as bad as they are though, there are a few people who buy them and think they are good. So it's worthwhile to both the author and the reader in that case.
