60% cent of books sold in Australia are published here
This is a big deal considering our musicians and actors go overseas to have half a chance at making a living and innovative patents are rejected here yet blow the world away when taken overseas, the list of stupidity continues.
It was just nice to read that Australians support Australian writers

Australians want no name literature

The big moan is that only 47% of literature in our study curriculum is Australian.
Personally I could not give a flying fig where the stuff comes from. If it’s good, it’s good, if it’s not, it’s not.
But I guess there’s a cultural issue here to consider.
