Review of Gifted by Nikita Lalwani

Here's my review of Nikita Lalwani's Gifted, which I found to be a solid novel to the extent that I was able to immerse myself into the main character, Rumi Vasi. It's one of the few immigrant family culture-clash novels I've read that shows how harsh the clash can really be on the children of immigrants, where the harshness comes not from natives non-acceptance but instead from their parents'.

This year’s longlist is very diverse, with four first time novelists as well as some more familiar names. ... The 2007 shortlist will be announced on Thursday 6th September at a press conference at Man Group’s London office.
