Romance writer, publisher split up over plagiarism claims - Salon.com

Romance writer Cassie Edwards and publisher Signet Books have decided to break up after allegations emerged in January that in she lifted passages in several of her books from other sources. The author told the Associated Press that she indeed "takes" material from other works, but said she didn't know she was supposed to credit her sources.

Lonely Planet rejects author's claim he made up parts of books, as writer backtracks

Lonely Planet said Monday it stands by the accuracy of its travel guides following news reports that one of its authors claimed he plagiarized and invented sections of the books. But author Thomas Kohnstamm later told The Associated Press that his remarks to the Australian newspapers were "taken out of context."

Spanish Nobel prize-winning writer Camilo José Cela has been accused of plagiarizing the work of a lesser known author for one of his best-selling books. The man died in 2002 under the shadow of this accusation, but now a literary expert has been called in to decide once and for all if Cela’s a thief.

Plagiarized Book Makes EPPIE Finals

Lucia Logan’s book, A Hidden Passion was chosen as a finalist in the EPPIE awards. Neither its publisher, Dreamspinner Press, nor the EPPIE judges recognized it as a Jane Eyre rip off. The book made it to the finals despite the fact that the press withdrew it from its catalogue in October. So much for the efficacy of the grapevine.
