Frank Zappa’s withering description of rock journalism as “people who can’t write interviewing people who can’t talk for people who can’t read” is not only pithy, but reflects the widely held opinion on the matter.

Shortly after the dawn of rock and roll another sweaty, squirrely, stepchild to that movement followed.
