Janine my two most favorite English professors were Virginia and Rober Hare. I don't suppose Erik Hare is there relative and yet that name is unusual. I posted a story on authspot.comhttp://www.authspot.com/Short-Stories/In-Search-of-Mother.60604 that is somewhat tied in with what he is saying about community and family ties.
If you're talking about a Robert Hare from Philadelphia, there's a chance they are a relative. It's unusual enough in the US, but common in Nova Scotia and some parts of Australia.
(I use the handle wabbit to make fun of the somewhat silly name)
Thanks for your story - I do worry about the massive dislocation we have set ourselves up for lately, and what that means to people "left behind" as it were.
People left behind are never happy. I think. Actually I was talking about Professor Robert Hare from Ohio.
He was a professor of English and scholarly and his wife Viginia was in love with Milton.
I suppose we could have used the title 'not safe for anyone' many times already, but I thought it would be especially pertinent here because in this show Richard and Hans illustrate the many situations in which the C-word is perfectly appropriate.
Thanks, Janine! I should employ you some day (assuming I can afford to).
